This product includes an inquiry lab about pH indicators with a very comprehensive guide for teachers to execute it almost effortlessly. There are two versions; advance and general. Both versions have their corresponding activity sheets along with steps to teach them.
The advance version takes about three 60 minute meetings to complete and includes an "entrepreneurial component". Students role play as founders of a chemical start up company whose revenue is in serious decline due to "customers" sudden dissatisfaction of their liquid indicator products. As such they must create a non liquid (perhaps paper strip pH indicator) or risk going bankrupt.They must create a new product as demanded by "the market", "take photo evidence of their effectiveness and present a convincing report to the class. Guidelines, video links suggestions and rubrics to carry out the activity is included in the product.

I have witnessed genuine interest in the eyes of my students over the years whenever we do the pH indicator inquiry. The activity promotes active learning, collaboration and real world connection which are often missing in most classrooms.
